Permanent flame resistant fabric: An unalterable feature over time and washes.

Permanent flame resistant fabric is a type of technical fabric that prevents fire propagation, and its main feature is the unalterable flame resistance it maintains throughout the years. Its efficiency in resisting fire remains unaffected, even with garment use, abrasion, or washing.

The inherent flame resistant properties of the fabric do not wash out or wear away, ensuring a longer garment life cycle and providing value and peace of mind for the wearer. Hai Huei specializes in supplying and manufacturing flame resistant fabric such as Nomex, Nomex IIIA, Kevlar, and FR blending knitted fabric, all of which are permanent flame resistant fabrics.

Characteristics of Various Flame-Resistant Knitted Fabric

Nomex IIIA

Inherently flame resistant, DuPont Nomex offers supreme strength and heat performance.  It does not melt, drip, or support combustion in the air. A key characteristic of Nomex flame resistant fabric is its ability to carbonize and thicken when exposed to flame or heat. This reaction creates a protective barrier between the heat source and the skin, providing the wearer with crucial extra seconds of protection to escape and minimizing the risk of burn injuries.

Kevlar Abrasion Resistant Fabric

Kevlar® is a heat-resistant para-aramid synthetic fiber from DuPont. It possesses a molecular structure with inter-chain bonds that make it incredibly strong. Kevlar exhibits exceptional properties such as being stronger than steel, high tensile strength, ballistic resistance, cut and puncture resistance, and heat resistance.

FR Blending

FR blending involves the combination of two or more types of flame retardant fibers to create fabric. This blending process enhances and diversifies the fabric’s overall functionality. For example, blending Kevlar with other fibers can improve strength and durability, while adding Rayon viscose or cotton can enhance comfort.

Modacrylic can contribute mildew-proof and chemical resistance properties, and the inclusion of Spandex can provide stretch and flexibility. The blending of flame resistant fabrics offers increased applicability and a wider range of choices.
